Local Cairns PoolWerx franchisees, Mick and Aimee Wiedon, have won the prestigious Australian Franchisee of the Year Award at the PoolWerx National Convention, held at the Sheraton Mirage on the Gold Coast last weekend.
PoolWerx CEO, John O’Brien, presented Mick and Aimee Wiedon with their award before a 400 plus crowd at the black tie gala ball on Sunday night.
In presenting the award, John O’Brien congratulated Mick and Aimee on their rapid rise though the pool franchise ranks and on their outstanding business acumen.
“Mick and Aimee Wiedon make an outstanding business team, and their Cairns business is a real success story – and the story has only just begun”, said John O’Brien.
The Chairman of the Franchise Council of Australia, (FCA) Stephen Giles, who was guest speaker at the event, said PoolWerx probably had the best franchise system in Australia, which made the award winners among the very best franchisees in the county.
“I believe PoolWerx is probably the best franchise system in Australia, so to win an award tonight makes you the absolute ‘best of breed’ in franchising in Australia”, Mr Giles said on the night.
Mick Wiedon gave an emotional speech as he accepted the award, thanking his wife and best friend Aimee for her commitment and hard work.
“I go to work each day with my best friend which makes it a lot easier to be successful. We’ve just had a baby boy and she’s been phenomenal’, said Mick Wiedon.
The Cairns pool franchise consists of a retail store located in the Showground Shopping Centre, and four mobile vans servicing pool owners in the Cairns area. And the Wiedons are currently making plans for further expansion.
The PoolWerx franchise, growing at record pace in Australia, was recently listed as the fastest growing home service franchise in Australia by BRW magazine.
