Trios, the fastest growing ‘fresh and tasty’ sandwich wrap franchise in the country, has backed recent research released by economic forecaster BIS Shrapnel, outlining consumers wanted food that was low in fat and cholesterol.
The study, ‘The Australian Food Service Market 2005-2007’ found the availability of fresh food is a paramount consideration for consumers.
The findings also showed Australians were looking for healthy meal alternatives; giving market players like Trios a clear path to shake up the fast-food industry with its healthy Laffé WrapsTM and salads.
Trios Managing Director, Mr David Elia said increased consumer awareness about health and wellness was driving the demand for alternative fresh and healthy fast food.
“Trios is a good option for the health-wise consumer because it’s dedicated to providing fast and
healthy food using fresh ingredients, all wrapped up in the delicious and unique Laffé BreadTM,” Mr Elia said.
A direct outcome of the trend for healthier eating is the fact that Australian companies specialising in healthy food have experienced rapid growth, which rivals that of traditional
fast food retailers such as McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Being the fastest growing ‘fresh and tasty’ sandwich wrap franchise in the country, Trios is no exception and now has over 10 stores in Melbourne with immediate plans to open a further eight more by the end of 2005 in Queensland and New South Wales.
Health trends demonstrate that consumers seek food that is not only fast, but also low in fat, which has put pressure on many fast-food companies to add healthy options to their menus.
“For the person on the go, there are very few other healthy eating options available. Our products fill a void in the market by providing health conscious, delicious wraps and salads that use quality ingredients, which are also high in fibre, low in fat and cholesterol free.”
Mr Elia said that Trios’ success can be attributed to its specially designed Laffé BreadTM, which is a flat bread that resembles a tortilla and comes in three flavours, to suit the taste buds and dietary requirements of all customers.
“Our Laffé WrapsTM are made with white linseed, wholemeal or sourdough LafféTM bread, each with different benefits such as Omega-3, vitamins, low-carbs and yeast-free.”
The good news for those who seek a healthy alternative at lunch time is Trios expects to establish 150 stores throughout the country by 2008 so that all Australians have the option of tasty, fresh and healthy Laffé WrapsTM to satisfy their hunger cravings.
