National franchise
Ali Baba K'Babs & Wraps has snapped up its Queensland competitor Uncle Tony's Kebabs (UTK), in a deal corresponding to a retail value of approximately $7 million per annum. Now the largest retail kebab and wrap chain in Australia almost 50 outlets, and 100 per cent Australian owned, Ali Baba has the capacity to supply $250 million in category demand or 400 more stores.
In 2005 it unveiled a centralised kitchen to supply all franchise operations and UTK sites will now benefit from the economies of scale enjoyed through Ali Baba's local primary produce supply chain. The brand has made a name for itself serving affordable, convenient wholefoods high in nutritional value, low in fat and sugars.
