The Jumping J-Jays franchise, after being located in the western suburbs of Sydney for seven years, has moved its call centre and national support office (NSO) to Queensland. Managing director and founder of the inflatable castle franchise, John Newton, has relocated the entire bouncy castle franchise operation to Eagle Farm, just 15 minutes from the Brisbane CBD.
The move has been primarily driven by the difficulty the jumping castle franchise has had in selling franchises into the Brisbane metropolitan area. However, Newton has now announced that as a result of a lead established at the 2004 Brisbane Franchise Expo, Shane and Angie Suliman of Carrara are set to become the Jumping J-Jays franchise first Brisbane-based franchisees.
A Gold Coast-based inflatable castle franchise was also recently sold and started in February, while responsibility for the Sunshine Coast has been given to a key company manager who has moved from Sydney to be part of the new bouncy castle franchise team. This month the Jumping J-Jays franchise will open four company-owned outlets in Brisbane.
According to Newton, benefits for the Jumping J-Jays franchise of moving to Queensland include lower leasing costs closer to the city, a more readily available workforce in close proximity to the new location, while taxes and running costs for the inflatable castle franchise are also lower.
“The weather is perfect for castles and potential franchisees in Brisbane will sell much more easily and rapidly with the NSO being close by,” Newton says.
“We expect to turn over around $500,000 in greater Brisbane in the first year of operation, adding to the successes we have achieved in Melbourne and Adelaide throughout 2004.”
