ADELAIDE CHILDREN HAVE JUMPED AT THE CHANCE TO JUMP ABOARD A JUMPING J-JAYS INFLATABLE CASTLE, INFLATING DEMAND TO THE POINT WHERE TWO NEW FRANCHISES OPENED IN JULY 2005.
The two new franchise operators to have come on board are Judy Chinnery and Mark Hodgkison, operating at Flinders Park, and Paris Minos at the Woodville franchise.
According to Jumping J-Jays leisure and entertainment franchise principal John Newton, the success of the Adelaide market is largely attributable to extremely tough regulation of the amusement industry in South Australia.
“The regulations make competition possible only between reputable operators in that all the poor quality, outdated inflatables have been removed from the market,” he says.
The opening of the two new franchises has increased the number of inflatables operated by Jumping J-Jays in SA to over 60. Prior to Jumping J-Jays launching in SA in September 2004, the government had just 90 inflatables registered throughout the entire state. In other words, in a little less than a year Jumping J-Jays has grown that number by some 70 percent.
“The Jumping J-Jays franchise system is about hiring products and never having to replace those products for at least five years,” Newton says. “We have no out-of-date stock, no perishables, no shop rent or seven day-a-week trading, and there is no staff required to run a standard franchise. What we do need, however, is families who love to make a difference on weekends to kids’ parties – usually parents’ biggest event for the year – and who also want to earn around double their present income.”
According to Newton, limited mobile franchise opportunities remain available across Australia and New Zealand.
