What makes you stand apart from your competitors?
We have many points of difference to offer our franchisees to give them an "Unfair Advantage" over our competitors. During the initial feasibility study it became very clear exactly what the client wanted and what our stakeholders wanted, many of these have been ignored by our competitors, so we designed our complete business system to deliver the total package to meet exactly what the market wanted. We listened to our clients, we interviewed our stakeholders, we found out exactly what they wanted.

We have many advantages over our competitors that include being very price competitive, with our comprehensive range of services and our unique software and systems and our marketing techniques. All combine to give us an unfair advantage over our competitors and stands us apart.

Has the downturn in the housing market impacted on the business?
No! Because we offer an extensive range of various professional services, when the market turns in either direction it opens up new opportunities for our franchisees to grow their business even more by using our unique range of services they can take advantage of. Some of our services are in more demand during a downturn, just as other services are prominent during a buoyant market. In the Independent Property Inspections franchise system we have built in a type of recession proofing by being flexible enough to take advantage of any market changes without impacting on our bottom line.

What is the start-up cost and on going fee structure to becoming a prospective franchisee?
The initial franchise fee is only $40,000 to secure an exclusive territory and the complete business system to secure your future and also the ability to employ as many extra technicians as the business grows. We have an ongoing fee structure that includes $1,000 per month plus 10 per cent of turnover.

The cost includes a minimum two week intensive training course, our unique proprietary software, proven marketing systems, start-up uniforms, signage and stationary. And ongoing back-up and support of our committed franchisor and the use and strength of the brand that is Independent Property Inspections.

What are the top attributes you are seeking in a prospective franchisee?
We only want building professionals; these can be licensed builders, existing building inspectors, building surveyors, structural engineers and architects. All must have a minimum of 15 years experience in their chosen profession.

What is the average revenue/profit your franchisees are currently earning per annum?
We are a very young franchise system and none of our franchisees have completed their first twelve months, however our pilot territory's last financial year's annual revenue was in excess of $280,000 and this is working at about half its potential. Because this is a mobile home based franchise business and due to the minimal overheads and very low operating costs, the profits are excellent, and it is a very attractive opportunity for any building professional to own and operate an Independent Property Inspections franchise and secure their future.
