The Bridgestone Tyre Centre franchise was established in 1939 under the name South Australian Rubber Mills Pty. Ltd. Since its inception the automotive franchise has been dedicated to providing its clients with highest quality of products and services. Since 1981, however, the car parts franchise has seen rapid growth.
In 1981, the Bridgestone Tyre Centre franchise’s annual sales figures exceeded $100 million for the first time in the firm’s history. Soon after that the automotive franchise manufactured its first Bridgestone brand tyre in 1982 at the Salisbury Tyre Plant. The same year the car parts franchise also ventures into the consumer products industry producing furniture, bathroom ware and underlay.
In 1995, the Bridgestone Tyre Centre franchise again took a giant leap forward with large contracts for its extremely popular RE92 65 series tyre range. The tyres were to be supplied to prominent automotive manufacturers to be provided Holden, Toyota and Mitsubishi in large volumes.
In 1996, the Bridgestone Tyre Centre franchise entered into a partnership with the Japanese Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd. This partnership allowed the car parts franchise access to significantly improved technology as well as better research and development tools. Finally, in 2002, the Bridgestone Tyre Centre franchise again reached a new land mark as its annual sales reached the $500 million mark.
