The healthy food movement is taking over food courts across Australia and one company leading the way is
Trios ‘fresh and tasty’, who is keen to bring its nutritious and unique offerings to Brisbane.
Brothers Elias, Sam and David Elia are the joint-founders of the burgeoning healthy food franchise that is already enjoying immense success in Victoria and New South Wales thanks to its signature product the Laffé Wrap™.
This special wrap based on original Lebanese bread that the brothers used to help their Mother make every second Friday, because it wasn’t available in supermarkets, has become the lifeblood of a business worth $10 million.
David Elia, Trios Managing Director and the youngest brother, said they were keen to extend the business, share their success and bring a healthy and tasty
fast food option to the Sunshine state.
“Brisbane is our next target, it has a lot of potential because to date no-one has yet claimed the city’s new age sandwich wrap market and the doors are now wide open for prospective franchisees both for single and multi-site opportunities,” Mr Elia said.
Trios is aware of the increasing competition in the food franchise market but is confident of its unique offering meeting market demand.
“We did our research and found that Australians eat more than 450 million sandwiches annually and more than a third of the money spent on food in Australia is going towards meals prepared outside the home, so that gives us great scope to own a good portion of the market.
“We have a unique product that answers the needs of the health but time conscious consumer, which is unusual in the fast food game but it is obviously a recipe for success as all of our stores have experienced continual customer growth and increased profit margins.
“We have also set up the Trios Food Group so franchisees have the opportunity to manage multi-site operations if they chose to expand their business. Essentially, anyone who wants an improved lifestyle and has a passion for good health and good food can run a successful Trios franchise,” Mr Elia said.
Mr Elias said the focus on
healthy eating was growing stronger everyday; particularly the emphasis on reducing carbohydrates.
“Our products are targeted to people looking for a great tasting meal without the guilt associated with eating ‘fast food’. Trios is a great alternative that is low in salt, high in fibre and lower in carbohydrates. t is the answer for a society with continuing health issues related to obesity and bad-eating habits.”
The company has a distinct style with its unique, trendy stores offering 28 meal options, all of which are unique to Trios and offer an extensive variety of healthy Laffé Wraps TM, hand tossed salads and nutritious baked spuds.
“Our menu is not only healthy and fresh it is also significant enough in size to satisfy most appetites and meet most tastes.” The establishment of Trios coincided with the boom in the healthy fast food industry and the trend has been continuing to soar in popularity ever since.
In just over two years Trios has experienced great success with 13 stores and with a solid franchise module in place, the forecast is to have 20 stores by the end of 2006 with that figure expected to double into 2007.
