A new concept in business TV has been launched on Channel Nine, showcasing the inspirational stories of everyday people who've gone through a career sea change, leaving the nine to five existence behind them and buying into a franchise.
Don’t Come Monday is a first for the business TV genre by focusing on the franchise industry, and will this Sunday feature Port Melbourne couple Michael and Samantha Carne of Australian franchise Cafe2U. One of the fastest growing business concepts in the nation, Café 2U has been crowned the largest mobile coffee franchise in the world. Having hit the 120 franchise mark worldwide in September, Café2U food and beverage franchise have experienced a 20% growth rate in the last six months.
As the program reveals, former courier Michael was attracted to the mobile franchise after franchisee development managers had already built up a customer base for him in Port Melbourne previously.
“I basically just had to meet the customers and start making coffee,” he said.
“The franchise gave us flexibility, I could pick up my daughter from school and as a business owner the earnings are higher than that of an employee. Samantha and I love the fact that we are building our own business.”
