With a focus on providing visitors with the most practical and relevant information available, this unique expo is part of the largest and longest running exhibition series in the industry, and is taking place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, 12 – 14 September 2008.
Visitors to the
advisory franchise Expo will have the opportunity to meet and compare dozens of companies, access financial advice and speak with experts in the one convenient location. Information that would normally represent days of appointments, meetings and discussions can be researched in a matter of hours.
Exhibitors at the Expo will cover a range of franchising and new business models, giving visitors looking to run their own business a huge range of options and experiences to choose and learn from.
The Franchising Boot Camp, Franchising Networking Lounge and Franchising Advice Centre will be key draw cards for visitors to the show, providing information on the franchising industry for those hoping to learn more.
The Franchising Boot Camp will be a power-packed and practical session, giving visitors the opportunity learn about the franchising industry and participate in a question and answer session with a panel of franchisees and industry experts. The Franchising Networking Lounge will provide a forum for visitors to meet with franchisees and other business opportunity representatives and discuss opportunities in a relaxed, one-on-one environment.
For those with questions about the ins and outs of franchising, the Franchising Advice Centre will provide visitors with practical advice on getting into the franchising industry, with banking and legal experts on hand to answer questions.
The “Government Information for Business” zone at the show will provide visitors with relevant information from departments including the ACCC, Department of Employee Industrial Relations and Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry. These departments will be providing visitors with information and assistance to help visitors start, build or grow their business.
The Department of Tourism, Regional Development and Industry is a one stop shop for business information, licensing and assistance. Representatives from the Department will be on hand at the show to provide visitors with information on preparing a business plan, the government support available to new businesses and the licenses need to get a new business on the road to success. The Department of Employee Industrial Relations will provide visitors with all of the information they need on managing staff in a small business.
Locally based Brisbane exhibitors include:
- Wok Me, a Brisbane franchising success story, launched its first store in 2004 and now has five outlets in Queensland is looking to expand interstate. Wok Me will be exhibiting at the Franchising Expo to inform visitors about opportunities available through its network
- Goodman Fielder, Australia’s leading food company, which will be exhibiting at the show to inform visitors of opportunities available within their contracting and distribution sales teams

The Franchising & Business Opportunities Expo will run in conjunction with the Investment and Property Expos.
