Allan and Adriana Dori had talked to a number of high-end builders before asking Amanda and Dan Rogers at
David Reid Homes Sunshine Coast Northern to develop concept sketches of their exclusive waterfront allotment at Twin Waters.
“The other
builders were coming back to us with designs that were around ten to fifteen percent more costly than we had allowed for,” says Allan. “Then we visited the David Reid Homes Showhome at Peregian Springs. Right from the start, we were very impressed with both the design of the house and also the high quality of the finish.”
“We knew what we wanted in terms of the overall layout of our Twin Waters home, “ says Allan. “However, the design concept Amanda and her team came up with incorporated some important elements that we hadn’t thought of such as a lovely water feature that flows from the pool.”
Happy with the final plans and the all important price, it wasn’t long before the Dori’s vision became a reality. Contemporary and chic, this absolute waterfront residence is absolutely brilliant; a perfect example of elegant Sunshine Coast style and design.
“Probably the best thing about the home is the way it opens up to the canal views from the living areas,” says Allan.
“Lots of glass and some curved bifold stack doors give us a great and uninterrupted panorama.”
The kitchen also has a jaw dropping effect. “We loved the kitchen in the Peregian Springs Showhome and decided to use it as a model for the one we have here. The appliances, sink, stone bench top and even the colours are the same, although the configuration has been adapted so that the kitchen looks to the water. It’s a great place to be, especially with the winter sun streaming in.”
Allan is also impressed with the way he and Adriana and the David Reid Homes team all had a voice in refining the house to make optimal use of the actual home site and the microclimate of the area.
“The placement of the double garage on the southerly side together with the commanding roof height provides an excellent shoulder to bad weather and storms. This also gives us year round protection in the courtyard. In addition, the generous roof overhangs on the westerly side to provide an important shield against the hot afternoon sun. This is a very liveable home.”
