Donut King Marketing has had a busy and exciting quarter. There's been non- stop marketing with the press coverage from the Make-a-wish sponsorship, our 300th outlet opening and the Simpsons campaign where we created the largest donut the world had ever seen! New menu panels, outlet design, new shop graphics and our latest biggest project to launch in 2008; Sensations in trial!
Donut King Helps Wishes Come True!
This year saw the second year of Donut King's Sponsorship of The Make A Wish; Wish Upon a Christmas Light competition! But, this year, we added an extra special bit of magic, with our Christmas Star Donut & Coffee combo.
Donut King
dessert franchise was proud to donate a $15,000 cheque towards helping Make a Wish grant more wishes for children with life threatening illnesses.
We were lucky enough to have a "Make a Wish child" Amy come up to Donut King Helensvale to launch the campaign. Amy was diagnosed with Cancer in 2005 & was granted her wish to attend cooking classes in Italy with her family.
The publicity that Donut King received for sponsoring this charity event was great! In total, 149 houses entered, 8149 voted and Donut King received over 68 press hits!
Sensations
In the past six months, we've had our new range of gourmet; Sensations in trial. We've had eight outlets in trial and are about to put another four on the ground. Sensations is DK's new "deluxe offering" of donuts. They are made from the finest quality ingredients to give a more sensational taste profile. Designed specifically for 20-50 year olds, are just perfect in a box to take to a dinner party, use for office meetings or to simply take home & enjoy with family & friends. The range is set to launch nationally mid 2008.
Exciting new menu panels
New menu panels have begun to hit outlets across the country. To contrast with DK's new look and feel the new menu panels really take outlets above and beyond. Comments from Franchisees have included things such as "The best we have ever seen", "Clean, sharp and easy to read" among other great compliments.
We feel these menu panels are much clearer to read and depict a more quality, contemporary approach that appeals more to adults. Including the browns in the menu panels, is another step towards integrating our new "pink and brown" look, matching our uniforms, packaging, new outlet designs and altogether new brand look going forward.
300th Outlet DK Rockingham (WA)
Donut King
take away franchise was proud to launch its 300th outlet in Rockingham, WA on Friday the 30th of November 2007. Tony Crocker and Nicolle Farley opened their first Donut King Outlet, the 13th outlet in Western Australia. The outlet has been a huge hit with locals, proof being customers constantly lined up at the counter since they opened!
To add to the fun & excitement on the day Tony and Nicolle presented their lucky 300th customer with a year's supply of donuts, and that was achieved around 2:30pm on opening day! That lucky customer will be enjoying Donut King Donuts for the months ahead!
