Another Federal Enquiry

The Federal Government has recently announced another enquiry into the Franchising Industry in Australia. On the back of the SA and WA enquires and the last Federal enquiry in 2006-07, there is a legitimate concern of over reaching regulation in the face of a well functioning market.

The results of this enquiry will not be known until next year but franchise advisory service DC Strategy will be active in communicating our view that the existing Australian market offers the necessary protections and environment for the sector to prosper.

When entering into a franchise agreement a fully informed decision needs to be made by both franchisor and franchisee. There is no place for misrepresentation, but at some point both parties need to assume a level of responsibility for any decision.

We will ensure any updates on this important enquiry are shared over the coming months.
