11 award wins could become habit-forming for leading sandwich bar franchise

11 award wins could become habit-forming for leading sandwich bar franchise.

Australia’s leading sandwich bar franchise Healthy Habits has shown some of the country’s leading retailers “how it’s done” after recently scooping the pool of national business awards with five wins and six finalist awards.

The burgeoning sandwich bar chain which has grown to 28 stores since franchising in 2004 won the My Business “Best Young Business” award, Small Business Champion “Best Gourmet Food/Takeaway store” award and the Unity Foundation “Business Award for contribution to the Indigenous Community”. The awards were held in late 2007.

Healthy Habits’ Director and founder Katherine Sampson, who is also currently one of six finalists for the international “Veuve Clicquot Award,” took home the My Business “Overall Excellence Award” in 2007 while her Fountain Gate franchise partner Michael Jamieson was crowned “Franchisee of the Year” by the Australian Retailers Association.

Healthy Habits has won a total of nine awards and been a finalist eight times since commencing franchising, and Ms Sampson said the awards acknowledged the strength of the brand and the hard work and commitment of the franchise partners.

“Winning these awards has been a major accomplishment for us and it is a great honour to be acknowledged by our peers and business leaders,” Ms Sampson said. “Congratulations are due to every member of our team and franchisee network as they have all contributed to our continued success.

“We are now one of the most awarded franchise systems in the market place which has given our current and prospective franchise partners more confidence in our system.”

The future continues to look bright for the award-winning franchise which has already claimed the mantle of Australia’s “Number One” sandwich bar chain.

“This year we’re planning to capture a larger chunk of the healthy fast food movement by establishing another 15 new stores along the east coast of Australia,” Ms Sampson said.

“In the future we will also be implementing a number of business strategies including expanding into Western Australia and New Zealand which will see us reach 100 stores in the next three years.”

Healthy Habits currently has 28 stores located throughout ACT, New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
