Who We Are
Put simply, myhome is a turnkey, money making business opportunity. A highly successful window cleaning franchise, myhome is taking advantage of the booming home services market. Our customers are cash rich and time poor and are typically professional and managerial households. They are happy to pay for a high quality service supplied by efficient and trustworthy providers.
myhome has roots in the UK, where it was launched in 1999 and is known as Myhome International PLC. Since its inception, Myhome has grown to operate 800 franchises and in 14 different countries.
Why We Are Unique
The myhome Window Cleaning Franchisee is a manager, not a servant. While our competitors only
offer their franchisees a job, we offer you a management franchise.
myhome franchise partners are extensively trained in how to establish,
operate, develop and build their own business within exclusive territories. They
also receive support in developing their People, Systems, Marketing and
Organisational areas.
myhome franchise partners are not workers - they are talented individuals who
manage and build a supremely efficient window cleaning business.
Our unique management systems break down the process of operating and growing a
business into simple, manageable steps.
At the heart of myhome is the pilot operation used to create, test and develop
the business systems necessary to provide a successful franchise opportunity. We
have invested 10 years developing an autonomous business that works to a system,
rather than relying solely on an individual or group.
Financial Rewards
In the residential services market, myhome receives a high average customer
spend, strengthened by long term relationships and regular, recurring payments.
A myhome franchise partner begins with 1 vehicle and 2 employees. With an
average growth of 10 customers per month over 2.5 to 3 years, the business will
grow to 3600 customers, 12 employees and 6 vehicles, with a revenue of $1.25 to
$1.5 million per annum. An excellent return on investment.
All myhome Window Cleaning Franchise service staff are full time employees who have completed a comprehensive training program and have been through a strict security vetting and selection process.
Whether customers require a ‘regular or one-off’ clean the approach is thoroughly flexible and customized and comes with a no-quibble guarantee of satisfaction.
myhome was developed by Unilever in the late 1990s to provide home services across the UK, such as residential cleaning, dry-cleaning and carpet care. To achieve this, Unilever invested heavily in the supporting infrastructure for a business with a projected turnover of £150 million.
A review of strategy in March 2001 led Unilever to sell off more than 100 businesses, including
myhome . In October that year, the Home Cleaning Division of myhome was purchased by Chores, a company founded by Russell O’Connell at the beginning of 1999 to provide premium services to the UK residential market. Extensive research in Australia and the US, where the fastest growing franchises were in Home Services, had convinced Russell that many ‘Cash Rich, Time Poor’ clients would be looking for services based on long-term contractual relationships in the UK.
At about the same time, the Group applied to join the OFEX market, a trading facility regulated by the FSA. In January 2002, the Group’s shares began trading publicly and Unilever has retained a significant shareholding in the Group. In 2004, the Group was renamed
myhome International Plc
At the heart of the myhome Franchise Programme is the pilot operation that was used to create, test, and develop the necessary business systems to provide a turnkey operating system for our Franchise Partners.
myhome has established an autonomous business that works to a system without relying on any one individual or group to produce desired predictable results for our customers, staff, suppliers and shareholders.
The
myhome Franchise appeals to entrepreneurial individuals who want to run their own business, but do not want to be in business on their own. A typical Franchise Partner is someone who is aged 30-45, has a middle-management background, has the necessary finance, and sees the value of working with a proven business format.
myhome Franchise Partners are extensively trained in the UK in how to establish, operate, develop and build their own
myhome business within exclusive territories. They also benefit from the support of a highly-developed infrastructure that provides help in four key areas: People Development - HR, Training, Recruitment, Motivation
Systems Development- IT, tri -col our Cleaning System & other operating systems
Marketing Development- central call centre, promotional materials, website
Organisational Development - fleet management, accounting, legal & insurance
As a Franchise Partner there is an initial Licence Fee and ongoing Management Royalties based on turnover, giving both parties a vested interest in growing the business as quickly as possible.
