About Snap-on Tools (Australia)
A Snap-on Tools franchise is a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY to own your own business, built on a sound foundation that includes many relationships. Snap-on franchisees are independent business people, controlling all aspects of their franchise and working flexible hours as needed to accomplish their personal goals. A Snap-on Franchise is WITHIN YOUR REACH!

As a Snap-on finalist for ‘Australian Retail Franchisor of the Year 2007’, Snap-on Tools is a simple business established in 1920, with around 5,000 franchises globally.

These home based franchisees retail the world’s best tools and diagnostic equipment from brilliantly kitted, air-conditioned mobile show-rooms, and may progress to run several, in a white collar role, turning over millions

How does the system work?
Tools are wholesaled to sales franchisees who on-sell - business to business - at a mark-up. Amongst other customer options, the franchisor offer a Trade Card (Store Card) finance programme. Tools that are not moving can be returned to the franchisor for repurchase, fee free. The mobile franchisor handles all issues associated with guarantees, and a freight free weekly order delivery comes with the package.

Why mobile?
Being a mobile franchisee gives you many benefits including no mall management fascism or premises rental, customer convenience, a ‘shop floor’ as large as your territory and a mobile billboard.

Where do customers come from?
Franchisees of this home based franchise are provided with a database of target workplaces in their exclusive territories, effective marketing materials, which enables them to immediately get on the road. The Snap-on brand is iconic within the tool-using industry and is assured to be welcome amongst this community. What’s more, it can take a lifetime to build a full Snap-on tool kit, so repeat custom is a given.

How strong is the brand?
NASA uses Snap-on tools in space. F-1 crews in the pits. Tradespeople are also familiar with the Snap-on Tools brand. It is a given within tool-using circles that Snap-on is superior in the industry and well worth its premium pricing.

How much does it cost?
$40,000 in fees, training, etc, not including allowance for stock, vehicle lease payments and working capital. ANZ lends up to 60% of costs on the strength of the sales franchise. Snap-on Tools does not levy royalties. A minimal management fee (around $100 per week) covers extensive support services.

How much will you make?

Suffice to say that Fortune magazine describes a Snap-on ‘truck’ as one of the most productive retail spaces in the world. The Australian Financial Review ‘Smart Investor’ magazine names it among Australia’s top seven franchises for return on investment.

Is it family friendly?

Snap-on mobile franchisees basically work trade hours plus admin (minimised by a non-royalty, transparent, IT-efficient system) and it is a brand to be proud of.

Training and support?
Ongoing throughout the term of the franchise, however initial product training begins with travelling to Dallas, Texas, for a week’s study at the Snap-on Training Centre, which is all covered for in start-up costs. Support is provided by your own Sales Development Manager and a cast of thousands worldwide.
