About Kwik Kopy Australia
Kwik Kopy Printing Franchise is a customer service company which focuses on building relationships that allow us to deliver impressive design, print and communications solutions.

Kwik Kopy, a Highly Recognised Brand
One of the major contributing factors to business success is the potency of brand recognition and recent research shows high awareness of the Kwik Kopy brand. With more than 100 locations, impactful marketing campaigns and dynamic business systems and tools, Kwik Kopy is one of Australasia’s leading franchise businesses. Contributing not only to brand recognition, but also to its streamlined systems and experienced management, is the fact that Kwik Kopy has been in the Pacific region for more than twenty five years. Launched in Australia in1982 under license from Kwik Kopy USA, (which itself was established as far back as 1967), Kwik Kopy grew into a sizeable force in the printing solutions industry.

This all adds up to a proven track record and a franchise system that runs smoothly, giving franchisees a real lift into a successful business. Once up and running franchisees are not on their own. Our dedicated support team is with them every step of the way.

Why Purchase a Franchise?
Owning a franchised business makes a lot of sense. You have the advantages of being master of your own financial destiny while at the same time enjoying the support of an established corporate structure and all the resources it commands. Eight out of ten small-medium businesses fail within their first 3 years of operation. It’s not surprising then, that franchising has boomed in recent years. The introduction of the Franchising Code of Conduct in 1998 also brought an improved minimum standard to the sector and provides comfort for both franchisees and franchisors.

“We love the fact that we own a business that doesn’t own us. Having a rewarding career and time to enjoy life is very important to us”.

Is Kwik Kopy For You?
Kwik Kopy is a business where you can work to make a difference. You steer the business, cultivate your clientele and grow your business as far as your determination, desire and people skills let you. Kwik Kopy franchise owners are people whose experience and personality are such that they can take an established and highly effective business formula and, by their own effort, make it a success story to call their own. With Kwik Kopy you get a proven, tried and tested system that removes the usual start up headaches and helps you to take off sooner.

Being a Kwik Kopy franchisee is an opportunity that we offer to people who thrive in a challenging environment. We only want the best, as our growth depends on the individual success of our franchisees. Each Kwik Kopy franchisee completes extensive interviewing and assessment prior to being invited to become a Kwik Kopy franchisee. Do you meet our minimum selection requirements?

Why Design and Printing?
Large or small, every business needs graphic design and printing. Despite the emergence of electronic media and the internet, printing remains one of the largest, most dynamic industry sectors. Kwik Kopy is ideally positioned to capture a lucrative slice of this business by being professional enough to attract the serious print customer but, unlike large commercial printers, Kwik Kopy is much more accessible and customer friendly.

Kwik Kopy has designed your centre with just this in mind – and it works. Moreover, Kwik Kopy is not a retail business. You’re talking with business clients who value professionalism and quality as much as economy and who look for long-term “business partners” rather than mere suppliers. You’re able to actively grow your business by going out and finding clients rather than counting on them to walk through the door.

The Kwik Kopy model offers a range of equipment and systems to service a wide range of printing and colour reproduction styles. Their selection is the result of ongoing research and evaluation ensuring the best selection to service your customer’s needs. Also Kwik Kopy centres use a sophisticated Management Information System (MIS) covering all aspects of the business, including job quoting, production management, invoicing and marketing.

121 Creative

Kwik Kopy has developed a Marketing Agency brand called 121 Creative. 121 Creative is the SME's marketing consultant/ design agency and can handle complex briefs from any Corporate or Government customer. To access the 121 Creative Brand, franchise owners have to invest in highly skilled staff, additional training and meet minimum standards. 121 Creative enables Kwik Kopy franchise owners to develop their business to another level. For more details about 121 Creative visit www.121Creative.com.au

What is Kwik Kopy Offering?
Kwik Kopy has a very flexible model, starting with a business design studio fully equipped to create high quality graphics and provide quality digital printing on site. This is supported by commercial print providers who can supply all those more difficult and larger production needs – without you having to invest in expensive capital equipment.
As your business grows, you can choose to invest into more equipment, enabling you to manufacture more products on site, or you can continue to focus on servicing your customers by continuing to outsource your print production.

Costs
To establish a new Kwik Kopy franchise you will need access to at least $250,000 in funding. This will cover shop fitting, works, deposits, computer systems and software, some equipment, franchise fees and allow for some working capital. Obviously these costs can vary depending on the final premises selected and amount of work required to refurbish the premises (larger premises cost more to set up). We lease digital printers for the printing production. The costs of these leases come out of the working capital and normal operating costs of the business.

In addition to these business costs you will need funding to support your normally living expenses whilst you build the business to profitability. Ideally, funding should be available for between 6-12 months. Alternatively, a working partner who remains employed can pay these living costs.

Kwik Kopy Fees
The initial franchise fee is included in the $250,000 set up fees referred to above. The franchise fee includes 20 days of training in Sydney. It does not include any travel or accommodation costs whilst attending this training.

Ongoing royalties are 7% of sales.

Marketing levies are 1% of sales for local marketing which is spent by the franchise owner in their PTA and
1 1/2 % of sales for National Marketing.

A complete breakdown of establishment costs and set up fees are listed on our fact Sheet which is available for download once you are registered.

Finance
Kwik Kopy Australia is an approved franchise system with all the major banks. This means that finance is guaranteed to approve prospects. We also have assisted people with limited funding to obtain funding for a franchise. Contact Kwik Kopy Australia if you require assistance with obtaining funding to purchase a Kwik Kopy franchise.

Dynamic Marketing Programmes
Continuous marketing is carried out to further develop Kwik Kopy brand awareness and drive sales. Brand marketing may use various media such as television, radio, outdoor, the internet and other media as thought appropriate. At the beginning of each financial year Kwik Kopy provides franchisees with an Annual Marketing Strategy Plan & Calendar of Events, documenting marketing activities for the forthcoming year.

Brand marketing focuses on creating awareness of Kwik Kopy nationally, whereas the local marketing levy is used to help build awareness and business in your specific marketing territory. Kwik Kopy also has a modern and effective website which provides a welcoming entry point for customers, generates interest and drives sales to Kwik Kopy centre’s.

All local marketing activities and options are also documented in the yearly Strategy Plan. You select the campaigns you wish to participate in. These are then centrally controlled and distributed to your marketing territory or to your customers, using your franchise details. They are generally paid for from the 1% local marketing levy. Of course, there is nothing to stop you from doing extra marketing for yourself and we have a broad range of promotional items available for just such activity. When launching your new business, a proven “Kwik Start” marketing programme is implemented to inform the surrounding business community about the valuable services you can provide.

State of the Art Technology
We use a sophisticated MIS to operate the day to day business in a Kwik Kopy centre. Integrated with our MIS is a state of the art E-commerce solution offering your customers the opportunity to work with you completely on-line. Unique to Kwik Kopy is our file transfer software ‘Kwik Kopy Direct’ giving your customers the capability to send files directly to your centre. We have also developed a partnership with a preferred ISP supplier offering the best rates and service to suit your business needs.
To answer questions or to help solve any technological woes, our trained IT professionals on the Kwik Kopy Help Desk are at your service during business hours.

Support
As a Kwik Kopy Franchise Owner you have access to a dedicated Business Development Consultant (BDC) who provides one-on-one local support to you on every aspect of your business. The BDC team’s primary focus is to help franchisees increase sales and profitability. In the early days of your new business they will work with you side by side, to make certain that you are up and running as quickly and as successfully as possible. They then continue working with you to build your business. Of course, they also monitor your compliance to the Kwik Kopy system. As well as the specialist support available from the BDC Team, Kwik Kopy Australia produces an annual financial benchmark profile, against which individual centres may compare their progress. Areas of opportunity can be readily identified and Kwik Kopy works with centres to improve their performance accordingly.

Our Production and Technology department is constantly investigating the market to ensure that we can provide advice on the different equipment and solutions that may improve efficiency of your business. The group buying power ensures you always get a competitive deal. Kwik Kopy has developed comprehensive digital & production workflow training so that your centre runs as efficiently as possible.

Our Human Resources and Training department can help you to recruit and develop staff, to assist you to become OHS compliant and run training and development courses. Besides our support team, Kwik Kopy has also developed a comprehensive intranet site called ‘InSite’, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering technical advice, marketing and sales tips, franchise group news and many other helpful items. InSite is a library of information and advice that helps you be one step ahead of your competitors. Kwik Kopy Australia is proud of the level of support provided to franchisees by the Kwik Kopy Support Team. We believe it is the best in the country and this view is well supported by our franchisees.

“Kwik Kopy has provided me with financial security and the opportunity to be in charge of my own destiny”.

Primary Trading Areas
Every Kwik Kopy centre has their own Primary Trading Area (PTA). Each PTA is based on the number of businesses located in the area (using Australian Bureau of Statistics data). We establish a PTA using between 2,000 and 3,000 businesses in each area and whenever possible use postcode boundaries.

This business counts ensure that each PTA has a generous number of businesses to support a Kwik Kopy franchise.

Kwik Kopy has mapped most of Australia and identified a number of PTA's that are available for sale. If an area you are interested in an area please contact us and we will advise whether it is available or not.

Established Centres
As Kwik Kopy printing is a mature franchise we have a number of established centres for sale at any one time. Prices for an established centre will vary depending upon the sales and profit levels, location and equipment in the business. If you have any interest in an established centre please contact us so that we can advise which centres are for sale in your State and send you information on those centres.
