Our History
Brazilian Butterfly was established after recognising a gap and subsequent need
for a professional, yet, fresh, fun and progressive salon to take advantage of
the specialty niche market that had been neglected by other salons - Brazilian
waxing.
Our first Brazilian Butterfly salon opened in February 2002, in the popular
shopping precinct of Bridge Road, Richmond Victoria. The Richmond salon started
on a small scale, but within a year the salon had established a client base of
over 4,500. Based on the resounding success of the Richmond salon the decision
was made to launch a second salon.
With its reputation as one of Melbourne’s most popular suburbs, particularly
amongst young female professionals, St Kilda was chosen. Our St Kilda salon
opened its doors in June 2003 and quickly established itself as a first choice
salon in the area and grew its client base through an extensive external and
in-store marketing campaign.
With Brazilian Butterfly’s reputation firmly established within Melbourne’s
inner suburbs, the company was approached to expand the business. In February
2004, Brazilian Butterfly Knox, in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs launched, under
license, and has proved to be another success story. With the success of our
first franchised salon in Knox, Brazilian Butterfly now has 16 franchises
successfully operating in Victoria as well as Robina in QLD.

FAQ
1. Is there a training program and, if so what type of training will I
receive?
Yes. Upon acceptance of your franchise agreement and prior to you opening your

merchandising and product knowledge. As well as you will be fully trained in all

The primary qualifications are financial stability and capability combined with

and quality identifications associated with widely recognised franchised
concepts

extent that its franchisees succeed

Testimonials
Deanne Siwak Camberwell Franchisee
What has surprised you about the franchise?
The most refreshing surprise was how loyal and brand proud the cliental are. It
got me customers from day 1 which was such an advantage.
The consistency in the passion all the franchisees have for running their
business was also a little unexpected. Whilst we all have slight variations
(which is encouraged) in our approach to business to best match the community we
work in, everyone is committed to the Brand and its’ health.
Coming into the industry with no prior training or experience, the franchisee
training was above my expectations and left me well equipped to start my
business.

What advice would you offer a new Franchisee:
- Listen to the Franchisor – they know their business
- Develop a detailed business plan that you can use
- Have plenty of Capital in reserve when starting out
- Understand your financial systems or get a good book keeper
- Know your reporting requirements
- Research your responsibilities as an employer and a franchisee
Finally the belief we have in the Franchise is reflected in our decision to open
our second salon in Greensborough in April 2006.
