Big Dad's Pies is a 100% Australian owned company, selling pies of approximately 300grams containing 95% fat free beef. Our steak pies are our mainstay, well complemented by a range of pie varieties, sausage rolls, pastries and a selection of cakes ; slices.
"Big Dad", Noel Donnelly was born on 23rd March, 1924 in Texas, a small regional town in western Queensland. When his first grandchild came along, Noel became the "Big Dad", just as his own father and grandfather had. The name fitted and Noel is now Big Dad to everyone.
68 years ago Big Dad started his pastry cooking career in Toowoomba at 13 years old and he has been pastry cooking & baking around Australia ever since.
Over the years, Big Dad created an outstanding set of his own recipes, the most famous being the "Big Dad's Pie", made up of a unique blend of ingredients.
In 2002 Stephen Donnelly, Noel's son, decided it was only fair to let others enjoy his Dad’s "biggest and best" meat pie, and the other range of hot goods, cakes and slices Big Dad had perfected over the years. Stephen opened the first Big Dad’s Pies outlet in Ipswich and within 2 years had opened a further 6 sites.
Big Dad's Pie Shops sell a range of quality bakery products. Our "big" steak pies (larger than average) are our mainstay, well complemented by a range of pie varieties, sausage rolls, pasties and a selection of cakes & slices.
All our food products are manufactured at the Big Dad's Pies production facility and are available fresh daily to our Pie Shops.
Our pies contain only the leanest diced beef possible at 95% CL (chemically lean) and are a approximately 300grams.
